TE convenience increased with EdgePull induction seals

A new tamper-evident, induction seal liner line (shown) available globally provides food, beverage, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, health and beauty aids and personal care products with protection and easy-opening functionality advantages. EdgePull induction seals from Tri-Seal, a division of Tekni-Plex, Inc., require low peel force to remove. The seals also peel cleanly, which means no adhesive residue/strings to contaminate the contents after opening.

Made in the USA Foundation files complaint about drug labeling

This week the Made in the USA Foundation announced that it has filed a complaint with the U.S. FDA against all large drugstore chains for failing to label the country of origin of prescription drugs. The effort is part of the foundation's Project COLD: Country of Origin Labeling for Drugs project. According to a new release issued by the foundation, the complaint cites FDA, U.S. Customs, and International Trade Commission rulings and regulations that require the drug labeling.

Newer technologies will differentiate pharmaceutical companies and reduce packaging costs.

New analysis from Frost & Sullivan, New Technologies that will Impact the Global Pharmaceutical Packaging Industry finds that the United States, the European Union, and Japan account for more than 65-70% of the global market for pharmaceutical packaging. However, China, Brazil and India will rapidly evolve into key markets for growth and spending. The demand for customization is further expected to drive the pharmaceutical packaging industry towards low-cost, sustainable and traceable packages in the future.

UPS Temperature True expands with new packages, services

As UPS continues to expand its UPS Temperature True Packaging service, the company is launching four new off-the-shelf, cold-chain packaging lines available exclusively to UPS customers. The packages have been engineered, tested, and prequalified for use in UPS's U.S. domestic network. The new options are part of an ever-expanding set of solutions and services intended to control temperature for healthcare products along the supply chain.
